Kevin Conroy Compares Harley Quinn Actresses

Harley Quinn has had several different voices over her existence, and the iconic voice of Batman has loved them all.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman from Batman: The Animated Series who most recently reprised the role for Batman and Harley Quinn, admits that he was a little confused by the way Warner Bros. approached their live-action Batman movie franchise.
"What's fun is watching different actors do a take on the same character," Conroy said. "I thought it was crazy when Warner Bros. didn't have one person do Batman, the whole franchise of live-action movies because usually there's one actor who's identified with the franchise and they sell it around that actor. But then when I saw each different actor do a different take it on it I thought, 'You know, this is kind of brilliant,' because you always get just a different take on the character depending on who puts on the cowl."
For Conroy, that fun extends to Harley Quinn as well.
"I mention that because Paul Dini created the role of Harley Quinn for Arleen Sorkin, who's an incredible comedic actor," he explains. "She does character work, and she just nailed it. I mean, that sort of gum-chewing, wise ass, "Joisey" broad, but crazy at the same time.
"And then Tara Strong came along and just did a slightly different tweak on it, but was brilliant. And now the most recent film version is with Melissa Rauch, and she nails it. But it's so interesting to see different people. No one is better than anyone else, it's just different takes on the same thing. It's just so interesting to see different people give their kind of take on the character."
As of this past week, Conroy has officially been voicing Batman for 25 years. Since debuting in Batman: The Animated Series, Conroy has reprised his role for other DC Animated Universe projects like Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman Beyond, as well as several of the DC Universe Original Movies, and for Rocksteady Games' Batman Arkham trilogy. In Batman and Harley Quinn, he reunites with Batman: The Animated Series Robin/Nightwing actor Loren Lester.
