Mark Hamill Reads Donald Trump's Wiretap Tweets As The Joker

Mark Hamill is up to old tricks. The beloved Star Wars star has returned with another edition of President Donald Trump's tweets read as the Joker.

In his latest performance, Hamill adapts Trump's weekend tweets claiming that former-President Barack Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped prior to the November 2016 election. Hamill's performance as the Joker-Trump hybrid, a character he refers to as "the Trumpster" gives the tweetstorm some extra dramatic flair.

"Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism! Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wiretapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A new low! I'd bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election! How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process? This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!"

This is not the first time that Hamill has taken on Trump's tweets. The entire idea began as a New Year's Eve joke from Matt Oswalt, who suggested programming an app that would take in Trump tweets and transform them into Hamill's iconic Joker voice from Batman: The Animated Series. Hamill liked the idea and decided to create the same effect the old fashioned way.

Hamill released his first Trumpster performance in early January, using Trump's New Year's tweet as inspiration. The Trumpster returned to perform the Tweets that Trump released in response to Meryl Streep's speech at the Golden Globes, and again soon after for a performance based on Trump's tweets towards Rep. John Lewis.

Hamill took things a step further with his own tweet today, imagining what Trump might say in response to these Trumpster performances.

Hamill originated his Joker voice on Batman: The Animated Series, and his reprised the role in DC Animation features and for video games, including the Batman Arkham series. For a generation who group on Batman cartoons, toys, and video games, his voice is the definitive interpretation of DC Comics' "Clown Prince of Crime."

Hamill shows no sign of giving up his role as the Trumpster, so don't be surprised to see more Trumpster quotes in the future.
