Capcom Gives Us A Closer Look At Street Fighter V’s Latest Addition, Abigail

Earlier this week, the EVO Championship event concluded with a number of surprises, among them the revealing of the latest addition to Street Fighter V's Season Two roster – the ridiculously big, but surprisingly powerful, Abigail. Today, Capcom provided us with an even closer look at this character, with a new trailer and gallery that shows off his immense size.

The character stands at a whopping eight feet tall, serving as the tallest – and perhaps largest – one in the Street Fighter brand. Yep, he could even give Blanka a run for his money if he was given the chance.

In the trailer, which you can see above, Capcom community manager Matt Edwards explains just what Abigail is all about when it comes to his fighting style and technique. He is capable of knocking down opponents with a number of tremendous strikes, and he has an impressive amount of range, even if his speed isn't quite up to snuff. No matter – once he's close to you, you've pretty much had it.

The fighter first emerged in Capcom history back in the 1989 game Final Fight, in which he appears as a boss that the characters will have to go up against before they face the final baddie. His brute strength makes him hard to overcome – and that's the feeling Capcom wanted to provide when they installed him into Street Fighter V.

And, no, you're not seeing things – those are tires on his arms that appear to have some kind of Mad Gear writing on them, showing his heritage from Final Fight. That, combined with his utterly ridiculous muscle structure, should make him quite an intimidating factor – even against powerhouses like Akuma and Ken.

The character will make his debut in the game on July 25th, alongside a special stage taken from Final Fight, Metro City Bay Area. He'll be part of the Season 2 Character Pass, which has also included Akuma, Kolin and Ed, and will introduce two more characters over the course of the year.
