Last week we reported that Bandai Namco had revealed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 would be launching on the Nintendo Switch in Japan this fall. We speculated that a fall release in Japan would mean a fall release in North America. Xenoverse 2 has been out on consoles at PC in North America for some time now, so the typical localization labors that tend to force a gap between Japanese and North American release dates don't really apply here. Lo and behold, today Bandai Namco revealed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is indeed coming to the Switch in North America this fall.

Of course, the Nintendo Switch version will boast a few unique features that the other versions of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 don't have, not the least of which is the ability to play the game wherever you go in handheld mode. "This version of the game will take advantage of the incredible features of the console like motion control option during the battles, local ad-hoc multiplayer up to 6, local battle with 2 Joy-Con, 1 system AND the chance to play wherever you want!"

It was also revealed that current players can look forward to the fourth batch of DLC next month, with two new powerful characters: Fused Zamasu and SSGSS Vegito.

You can find multiple screenshots from the Nintendo Switch version of Xenoverse 2 in the gallery below, but currently we don't have any gameplay footage to work with. We're hoping that Bandai Namco can work out optimizations to allow for 60 FPS gameplay. The verdict is still out on that one, but hopefully we'll get some new gameplay footage next month at E3.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 builds upon the highly popular Dragon Ball Xenoverse with enhanced graphics that will further immerse players into the largest and most detailed Dragon Ball world ever developed.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will deliver a new hub city and the most character customization choices to date among a multitude of new features and special upgrades."
