Friday The 13th: The Game Getting A Physical Release On An Appropriate Date

Even though a small portion of the community isn't too happy with the game right now, Friday the 13th: The Game is still making a, ahem, killing. And soon, players will be able to get their hands on a physical copy on a very appropriate date.

As previously promised, the team at Gun Media has confirmed that the game will make its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in physical form on Friday, October 13th. The physical edition will feature the "full" game experience, along with some bonus goodies, including a downloadable Bloody Jason skin for your psychotic character, as well as a Counselor Clothing Pack, with extra clothing items for each of the in-game characters that, well, aren't psychotics.

The game is set to sell for $39.99, and pre-orders for the game should be live now at various retailers, including Amazon, where you can place your order here (Prime members save 20% on the pre-order). The team confirmed the forthcoming game with a new trailer, which can be seen above.

Despite a number of complaints from the community in regards to broken multiplayer experiences and the lack of other content for the game (like the promised single player content, which is on the way), Friday the 13th: The Game has done fairly well since its release, and we've even explained why it doesn't deserve the bad rap that it's been getting, even if it does slightly contradict the review we posted for it.

You can check out the official box art for the game, for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in the attached gallery. It looks very similar to the promo art that was used to first advertise the game when it officially became a Friday the 13th title, with Jason hovering over a soon-to-be victim with a real axe to grind. It looks pretty sweet, and the blood splatter of bonus features is a pretty nice touch.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
