Friday The 13th: The Game Is Missing A Major Day-One Patch On Xbox One

The launch of Friday the 13th: The Game has been a bit of a horror show, and not in a good way. Both the PC and PS4 versions of the game have been gutted by server issues that make the game almost impossible to play. Here's how I described my experience with the PS4 version of Friday the 13th in my recent impressions:
"I can personally attest to the issues on the PS4. While Friday the 13th runs relatively smoothly once you get into a game, actually connecting to one is no easy task. I've found myself staring at a "Searching for Sessions" message for 20 or 30 minutes, and often found myself cruelly booted once I got to the character setup menus. There is a Private Match mode, but this is a game that really requires a full eight players, and it's unlikely you know that many people who own the game. Quick Play is usually your only option, and it's thoroughly busted right now."
The Xbox One version of Friday the 13th boasts more reliable online play, but its reportedly suffering from major problems of its own. Specifically, Friday the 13th on Xbox is basically still the beta version of the game as Gun Media and developer IllFonic never issued a day-one patch on that platform. Players have noticed the Xbox One game has different menus, rougher graphics, and missing features compared to the PC and PS4 versions. But hey, at least you can actually play it! Silver linings?
Publisher Gun Media has confirmed Friday the 13th on Xbox One is missing the day one patch, and it probably won't be added for at least another day:
"XB1 is missing the day one patch. We're working with MS to resolve. Likely not patching until at least Tuesday because it's a holiday weekend."
Regardless of whether you dig the concept behind Friday the 13th: The Game, you have to admit this launch has been…not great. As I said in my impressions, it's probably best to avoid the game for now.
