For months the fact that Jason Todd, aka the Red Hood, would be in Injustice 2 was one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming.

Injustice 2 producer Ed Boon teased Red Hood would be in the game as early as September of last year, and the official Joker reveal, which contained multiple references to Todd, really sealed the deal. When Red Hood was finally confirmed to be one Injustice 2's first three DLC characters, it was more a relief than anything. If he hadn't been revealed I think there might have been a riot on the Injustice Reddit community.

That said, while we know Red Hood is coming soon, we still don't have much of a clue about how the character will play. The Fighter Pack 1 DLC trailer treated fans to a few shadowy pre-rendered shots of Red Hood, and not much else. Well, it's not a whole lot to go on, but the official Injustice 2 Facebook page has released the first HD screenshot of Red Hood in action. You can check out Red Hood's gun-blazing debut, below.

As you can see, Red Hood will be wielding his signature dual pistols – don't expect any mercy from this guy! In the screen, it appears Red Hood has launched his opponent into the air, and is shooting them from his back in a somewhat unique move. Even though Red Hood wields guns, it doesn't appear he'll playing the same ranged game as Deadshot. Perhaps he'll have more of a John Wick gun fu style? However Red Hood fights, expect him to be popular, as he was apparently the most requested character on the roster.

Injustice 2 is available now on Xbox One and PS4, and Fighter Pack 1 should arrive sometime soon (we don't yet have a specific release date). You can check WWG's latest coverage of Injustice 2 here, and our extensive back catalog of stories, right here.
