Injustice 2 Gets The Honest Trailers Treatment

It was only a matter of time before the team over at Smosh Games were going to give Injustice 2 the Honest Trailers treatment – and lo and behold, that time has come.

Honest Game Trailers' latest episode focuses on Netherrealm Studios' hit fighting game, and it certainly doesn't disappoint, as it praises the game's story mode, but also points out the microtransaction system that some players couldn't help but complain about.

The trailer, which you can see below, was quick to point out the four different types of currency that are featured within the game, including what's needed to unlock some of the premium skins – even though the narrator pretty much hints that you're going to need to spend real money anyway if you want them badly enough. It does so in a fun, jokingly manner, though, so you probably shouldn't get too offended by what the team says about the game.

On top of that, it easily points out some great tropes regarding Injustice 2. For instance, mentioning that we're finally getting the "asshole Superman" that we deserve, and something that's been hinted at forever. There's also talk about Batman not really "killing anyone," despite the fact that his super moves involves him shooting his opponent out of the sky using the Batwing. And, of course, there's a mention for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, because of course there is.

The team at Smosh Games clearly has fun with the trailer, even with the naming of characters at the end of it. For instance, Black Canary is now labeled as Britney Spears 2000; Brainiac jokingly gets called Dr. Octopus (mainly for his many tentacles); and, of course, Catwoman is Crazy Catlady. And you have to love the Insane Clown Posse nod that Harley Quinn gets.

Most of Smosh Games' Honest Trailers are fun to watch, but the team had a lot of fun with Injustice 2's, as you can plainly see. Be sure to check out their others as well once you're done watching this one – you might actually like what they have to say about NieR: Automata.

Injustice 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
