New Call Of Duty: WWII Zombies Info Pops Up On Classified Site

We're about a week away from San Diego Comic-Con, and, more importantly, the big reveal for the new Zombies mode that will be featured in Call of Duty: WWII. But it appears Sledgehammer Games may have provided a bit of backstory on the mode, based on a letter that was sent to a fan of the series.

Charlie Intel has reported that a YouTuber by the name of MrRoflWaffles has posted a new video, one in which he noted a package that was received from the team at Sledgehammer. In it is a letter, with images that you can see in the attached gallery, providing a small tease in regards to the forthcoming Zombies mode in Call of Duty: WWII.

MrRoflWaffles also got a code for the Call of Duty Classified Site to unlock new information -- 12091 – and entering it actually provides access to even more details, in the form of a new Journal and Radio Station.

Now, with that, if you take a closer look at the Journal that's unlocked with the code, you'll actually see an image for what appears to be a map for the forthcoming mode, though Sledgehammer Games hasn't confirmed it just yet. (We'll likely see that confirmation during the developer's panel next Thursday at Comic-Con.)

You can check out MrRoflWaffles' video above, which shows off the letter (alongside our gallery) and gives you an idea of what to expect from the presentation next week. It's pretty cool stuff.

On top of that, Sledgehammer also posted a blog today, giving even more hints about what to expect from Zombies. It noted, "This image – namely, the metal caging on the face – hints at the unique new direction we are taking with this year's Co-Op mode. Spoiler: It will be dark. And it will be chilling." (It's the same image the company posted on its Twitter account a few days ago – and, yep, it's pretty creepy.)

Considering that most of the veterans at Sledgehammer Games previously worked on EA's Dead Space series, it's easy to see that it definitely knows how to make a "creepy" experience. We're thrilled to see what it's all about.

Call of Duty: WWII will release on November 3rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
