PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Nerfs Item Spawn Rates in Latest Patch

A new patch for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds included a variety of changes with one of the most notable differences being the reduced spawn rate of items around the map.

The latest update for the battle royale game was a smaller one in terms of content, but that much is to be expected as the team working on the game paves their way towards the eventual full release of the game on PC and Xbox One. With only two main sections listed in the patch notes this time around, it was a pretty light update compared to others.

Small path or not, the update notes are still definitely worth looking into if you're to remain on top of the leaderboards when facing off against the other combatants. The full patch notes related to gameplay changes and bugfixes can be found below:

Outside of the patch that shipped on Tuesday for PUBG, the game's team also outlined some of the other projects that they've been working on or plan to continue with. The optimization of the leaderboards is one area that they've been focusing on, but it appears that the work is taking longer than expected and will be affecting the next season. An update on the situation says that they'll need to delay the start of the new season until Oct. 20, but another statement indicates that they'll make an announcement on when the next season will start later in the week.

Looking even further ahead, PUBG is also preparing for its upcoming 1.0 launch and the release of the game on the Xbox One. They recently detailed their plans for both of the releases and said that this most recent patch will be the last one until the full release, so players should be able to get comfortable with the game as it is before any more changes come.
