Will Wakanda Appear In Avengers: Infinity War?

Earlier today, Chadwick Boseman confirmed via Twitter video that he will be reprising his role of T'Challa/Black Panther in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. While this officially settled many fans' suspicions that the character would appear in the film, it also introduced an entirely new question - whether or not a portion of the film will be set in Wakanda.

At this time, the setting of Boseman's video appears to be the largest clue. A trio of chairs, which boast the names of Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans), Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and T'Challa, are shown against an outdoor setting. The location appears to have both desert and forest characteristics, fitting right in with the established landscape of Wakanda.

In addition, many updates about Infinity War hint that the globe-trotting film will make some sort of stop in Wakanda. Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, has been hinting at the connections between Black Panther and Infinity War as early as 2015. And it was recently reported that two of Black Panther's supporting characters - T'Challa's sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and adversary M'Baku/Man-Ape (Winston Duke) - will reprise their roles in Infinity War.

The fact that Evans and Johansson's chairs accompany Boseman's in the video is certainly worth noting as well, as it indicates how Black Panther could possibly be brought into the narrative fold of the film. With Steve Rogers having established a positive relationship with T'Challa at the end of Captain America: Civil War - including T'Challa agreeing to house Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) in cryostasis - there are a myriad of reasons for the characters to cross paths again on Wakandan soil.

While there is no telling where the characters of Black Panther will end up at the end of their solo film, it's not implausible for the MCU to be making a return to Wakanda with Infinity War.

You can check out the first synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War below:

"As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain."

Avengers: Infinity War is described by Marvel Studios as the culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man in 2008. The movie is filming now under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
