After seeing Mad Max: Fury Road for the first time, audience members had only one thought when exiting the theater - "When do I get to see more of that?!"

The action-packed follow-up to George Miller's Mad Max trilogy took the world by storm, earning commercial success and critical praise in 2015. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that Fury Road would get a sequel, and the director teased everyone with the announcement that two more films had already been written.

However, nothing more has come of this comment over the past year or so. Fans are still wondering when the next movie - supposedly called Mad Max: The Wasteland - will drive into production.

While speaking with Independent, Miller talked a bit about his potential sequel. While he didn't confirm if - or even when - it would get made, the director did reveal that he has a ton of story fleshed out for the Mad Max universe. He definitely has those two scripts ready to go, and he offered some details regarding the future projects.

"We dug down deep into the subtext, the backstory of all the characters, and indeed the world…and without really thinking about it, we wrote two other screenplays just as part of the bible of the stories," Miller said. "Somewhere, if the planets align, there will be two other films."

Miller went on to reveal that everyone's favorite blind guitarist, Doof Warrior, will definitely return if another film is made.

"I know who his mother was. I know how it was that a man who is mute and blind survived the apocalypse. I know his story very well!" says Miller. "If we get to make another movie, the Doof Warrior will be there!"

Hopefully, those planets will align, and we will get another entry in the Mad Max mythology.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Hardy can currently be seen in Taboo. It airs on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
