12/17/2015 11:59 am EST
The first official box office numbers are out for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opened with a preview night or opening day in 12 international territories on Wednesday.
And it's good news all around. The movie took first place in all twelve territories Wednesday, and totaled $14.1 million, according to Disney. France had their biggest December opening day ever with $5.2 million to contribute to that number, outstripping Avengers twice over, and Jurassic World by almost double. Italy also had the top December day by almost double, and Sweden and Norway had the biggest single box-office days ever.
32 additional foreign markets open today, and the domestic market in US and Canada kicks off the Star Wars: The Force Awakens opening with a preview night at 7pm tonight.
Records, or very close to them, are expected all around.
