Andrew Lincoln Says The Walking Dead Midseason Finale Is Bananas

Tonight's season finale of The Walking Dead is "bananas," according to series star Andrew Lincoln.

There's always a high bar for finales and premieres on The Walking Dead -- and Lincoln is excited about what's coming up in the midseason finale and the season finale this year.

"There will be blood. The walls come down. And it's going to be bananas," Lincoln told TheWrap in an interview, saying that the second half of the season will be better than the first. He calls the Season Six finale, which just recently wrapped production, "dark" and "extraordinary."

"I will say episodes eight through 16 — I'm more excited than I've ever been before, just where the story is headed," Lincoln said. "Eight and nine are unbelievable. Unbelievable. They're some of the best episodes I've read and when I was filming, it just got bigger and more epic and more insane every day that we shot."

The Walking Dead airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
