Sons Of Anarchy: Charlie Hunnam Reveals How Jax Has Influenced His Other Roles

Charlie Hunnam has been gearing up for another ride this summer, but it's going to look a little different. Instead of Jax Teller's infamous Dyna Super Glide, the actor will be charging in on horseback for King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.
Not matter how different any of Hunnam's new roles may be, a part of him is still attached to Sons Of Anarchy. The actor fused himself with Jax for eight years, and that's a difficult bond to separate.
While promoting King Arthur at CinemaCon, we had a chance to speak with Hunnam about these different roles. The actor revealed just how profound of an effect Jax has had on the rest of his career, and how the character continues to influence his work.
"I've never had an experience of getting so close and so deeply meshed with a character before. I felt when i finished sons that it was a real process to get back to center, and try to exorcise him out of my psyche for as much as possible. Because I'd been living with him for eight years you know, trying to bring him to life.
"I started this movie maybe three months after I finished Sons so I'm sure there's flavors of him in there. It certainly wasn't intentional though. You want every character you play to be as original unique and fresh as possible, so you wanna try and forget everything you've known. But that was also my education, on Sons. It was like going to an Ivy League school because we did so much work so quickly.
"You know Kurt [Sutter]'s writing, he doesn't shy away from high drama so we swing for the fences in almost every scene. So we're filming four or five massive scenes every day on that show, and after eight years of that I felt like I graduated. But because my education came from that show, I'm sure I bring a lot of that into everything I do."
