Game Of Thrones Marathon Announced By HBO

Game of Thrones is one of THE biggest things in popular culture these days, and anticipation is higher than its ever been for the upcoming season 7 in summer 2017. However, before spring and summer arrives to fill us with warmth and life, we have something to deal with first: As they say in the Stark family, "Winter is here."

With the holidays now upon us, there will be an annual treat for TV fans to enjoy: marathons of their favorite shows, running during the Christmas to New Years stretch. This year that list will include Game of Thrones, as HBO has announced details to where fans and/or new viewers can catch up on all the happenings in Westeros:

So far Game of Thrones has run six seasons with ten, hour-length, episodes in each season. That's a pretty good stretch of road for the marathon, and given the amount of twisted politics, war, sexing and backstabbing that takes place in the show (an in the very first episode!) viewers will certainly not be bored.

...Now, can a new viewer possibly keep up with all the names and places and mythology that Game of Thrones throws at you - especially in the span of a binge watch? That's the sort of challenge destined for a YouTube video analysis.

Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. The Emmy® and Golden Globe-winning series has captured the imagination of fans globally, making it one of the most popular shows on television.
