Harry Potter, Star Wars Icons Top Hollywood's Favorite Female Characters List

In a recent survey conducted with members of the movie and TV industry, The Hollywood Reporter released the results of Hollywood's favorite female characters. Unsurprisingly, powerful women in the Star Wars and Harry Potter universe scored top spots, among other amazing characters.

When conducting their poll, Hollywood Reporter tapped actors, actresses, writers, directors, and more to weigh in on their favorite fictional female characters. Over 1,800 industry professionals participated to determine the massive list.

Many members of the survey remained anonymous, but certain professionals opted to identify themselves. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed her affinity for Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird, saying, "I used to think I was her."

Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson confessed she had a "soft spot for Katniss Everdeen," but she was far from alone in professing her love for the Jennifer Lawrence character.

In addition to just the list of characters, the survey found other interesting information. Characters from the '90s, '00s, and '10s dominated the list with 39 entries, more than the previous six decades.

When broken down by profession, writers most admired Parks and Recreation's Leslie Nope and executives loved Jessica Jones. Producers, meanwhile, were the biggest supporters of Veep's Selina Meyer.

Other highlights include Arrow's Felicity Smoak landing at #15, five characters from Game of Thrones made the list (Sansa Stark #44, Brienne of Tarth #38, Cersei Lannister #34, Arya Stark #16, Daenerys Targaryen #8), Rey from The Force Awakens came in at #14, and with Princess Leia taking the silver behind Harry Potter's Hermione Grainger.
