Jurassic World 2 Director Promises Better Shoes For Bryce Dallas Howard

The first Jurassic World successfully brought the Jurassic Park franchise back to the forefront and earned a significant amount of money in doing so. Still, the first film did have its issues, and those haven't escaped Jurassic World 2 director J.A. Bayona.

One of the biggest issues has already been addressed, with Bayona promising Birth.Movies.Death that "Claire [Bryce Dallas Howard] doesn't wear high heels in this movie" It was odd to see Claire running from the Indominus Rex in uncomfortable high heels, while the rest of the cast gets to run in footwear that is, you know, actually practical.

The new shoes will serve her well, as Bayona also says "There will be new dinosaurs" for them to face or more likely run from. Bayona also added that "finding that proper balance between what the audience is expecting and new stuff is always a challenge in doing a sequel."

As for Howard, she's already quite happy with where the script is, recently saying "The script is awesome. I saw Chris [Pratt] this week. I've seen everyone in London recently. Yeah, we're talking about details now. We're, like, down to the details. It's pretty exciting. It's going to be the first time that I've ever gone back to something. My husband [Seth Gabel] works predominantly in TV. I'm always like, "Ah, you're working with your friends again. You're so lucky!" I feel very lucky."

Jurassic World 2 is being directed by J.A. Bayona and stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire), Chris Pratt (Owen), Rafe Spall, BD Wong (Dr. Henry Wu/Rumored), Toby Jones, and Justice Smith. The film is being produced by Belen Atienza, Patrick Crowley, and Frank Marshall, with Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Thomas Tull serving as executive producers.

Jurassic World 2 is dated for June 22, 2018.
