The Walking Dead: First Look At Three New Characters

The Walking Dead has revealed two new characters for its upcoming sixth season, complete with intel from showrunner Scott Gimple and a fresh batch of photos.

Merritt Wever will play a doctor named Denise Cloyd, and Ethan Embry will play Carter. While Wever's Cloyd will be a direct adaptation of the comic book character, Carter is a "composite" character made out of several other characters from the Walking Dead comic book.

"Ethan plays a combo of a few characters that we actually haven't hit yet or weren't able to hit in other characters," Gimple told Entertainment Weekly. "He is an Alexandrian, and has been there the whole time, just quite busy."

The two new characters will join Corey Hawkins' Heath, who was revealed at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year. While Walking Dead comic book readers already knew that Heath was a supply-runner for Alexandria, Gimple added a few extra details on his live-action counterpart.

"He's terrific and I'm so excited to see him bring Heath to life. It's been fun and he dove in with both feet. He's tough and skeptical when the cameras are rolling, and then when they're off he's just like a goofy fan. He's really, really excited to be there."

You can view the new photos of Heath, Dr. Denis Cloyd, and Carter in the gallery below.
