In June, BOOM! Studios announced that they had partnered up with Saban Brands to publish a new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series. And today, BOOM! has released a new White Ranger cover and an expected released date for the series.

When BOOM! made the initial announcement they released five comic book covers with a Power Ranger -- Blue, Pink, Yellow, Black and Red -- on each. Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have our first look at the sixth cover -- designed by artist Goñi Montes.

According to EW, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers loyal fan base "can expect the debut of issue #0 in January" and it will include a short story written by Mairghread Scott (Transformers: Windblade) and illustrated by Daniel Bayliss (Translucid) -- first seen at San Diego Comic Con.

The series itself is being written by Kyle Higgins (Batman Eternal, Nightwing). Who is illustrating it? That person will be revealed at a later date.

Check out the all of the covers, including the White Ranger cover, in our gallery below.
