Naomi Scott Cast As Pink Ranger In New Power Rangers Movie

It's official! Naomi Scott has been cast as the Pink Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers movie.

The 22-year-old English actress and singer is best known for portraying Mohini "Mo" Banjaree in the Disney's Lemonade Mouth TV movie and as Megan in the Life Bites TV series. She also had a small role in The Martian and played Maddy Shannon in Fox's short-lived drama series Terra Nova.

In the original 1993 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series, Amy Jo Johnson played the Pink Ranger/Kimberly Hart. Johnson played the role for 3 seasons and in two feature films.

The film is being directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac), based on a screenplay written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X:Men: First Class, Fringe).

Power Rangers will begin filming in January 2016 and is scheduled for release on January 13, 2017.
