You're Going To Love This Power Rangers Tactical Armor Cosplay

The Power Rangers franchise is one of the more popular Cosplay choices at conventions, but you haven't seen any quite like this.

The talented Forrest Duncan of 4est. Cosplay put together some new Power Rangers suits that are sort of a cross between the unofficial Fan Film and something out of BOOM! Studios' recent Mighty Morphin Power Rangers dark universe. Duncan put together a Black Ranger version and a Green Ranger version, and both look...wait for it...morphinominal.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Seriously though, they look fantastic. The armor features the bodysuits underneath but actually includes some heavier armor plating over it. The morpher is at the center of a full utility belt, though the helmet design pretty much stays the same. Both are armed with airsoft guns here, and it kind of makes you want some skins for Battlefield or something doesn't it?

Duncan posted a few shots of the Cosplay (alongside Green Ranger BlackSaiyanRanger) with the caption "4est.cosplayINTRODUCING: ⚡️Tactical Rangers⚡️. . . Both suits made by me . Black Ranger: @4est.cosplay , Green Ranger : @blacksaiyanranger_."

The suits have been well received, with the original Green Ranger himself Jason David Frank giving the Cosplay a big thumbs up.

You can view more photos of the suits on 4est. Cosplay's Instagram, and you can find more from BlackSaiyanRanger on his Instagram as well.

In an interesting turn of events, Jason David Frank recently revealed at Florida Supercon that during his audition he didn't read for the part of Tommy. It didn't really have any lines yet, so he ended up auditioning for the role of the Black Ranger.

"So I auditioned for Walter's, they gave me Walter's script because they didn't give me a Tommy script. I just read Walter's role and lines and stuff and then talking about Zordon, which I had no clue what I was doing.

It all worked out for the best though, with Jason David Frank getting the role of Tommy and Walter Jones landing the role of Zack. Frank has gone on to reprise the role on a variety of occasions, and who knows, maybe he will make another appearance in the future.
