***SPOILER WARNING!***

When Lionsgate and Saban announced a new Power Rangers movie was in the works, fans of the multi-billion dollar franchise hoped that the '90s television series — which launched the property — would be honored by including cameos for the original cast.

Unfortunately, not all of them — Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger), Walter Jones (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger), and David Yost (Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger) — were asked to participate in the film. Fortunately, Jason David Frank (Green Ranger/Tommy Oliver) and Amy Jo Johnson (Pink Ranger/Kimberly Hart) were asked to participate and made a cameo together.

At the end of the film, the entire town of Angel Grove look up in awe of at the Megazord. Many of them whip out their cell phones, snapping photos and recording video. In the front and center of the crowd, you can see Frank and Johnson.

And why were they chosen? "Those were really the two that we thought were important to put in there," director Dean Israelite explained to Cinema Blend, "and you know obviously we're teasing something at the end that relates to [Tommy] so it sort of all felt organic."

Interestingly enough, that wasn't the first cameo they filmed. "The first cameo we did was cut. Me and Amy were filming in the Krispy Kreme," Frank told The Hollywood Reporter. "I grew a ponytail out for that. I was thinking, 'If I grow the ponytail out, I'll shock the fans when they see me.' We shot a scene there with Rita [Elizabeth Banks], and we were dressed in green and pink."
