This Power Rangers Infomercial Sums Up The Reboot In The Best Way

The Power Rangers live-action reboot has some flaws to be sure, and this new Infomercial style parody hits them all in the most delightful way.

The newest InFILMercials project from All Out Movies takes Saban's live-action reboot to task on a few different issues that even the most ardent of fans will knowingly nod along to. Right off the bat, it addresses the delayed morphing sequence, which didn't hit until the third act.

It then switches gears, and here is where the over the top narration is perfect against the more mundane activities of the Rangers early in the film, with hair-raising antics like slapping bullies, cutting hair, posing, and Billy's constant need to ask Jason's approval on just about anything.

The parody also points out something you might have overlooked, that being the sheer amount of punishment that Trini takes throughout the film. She falls when the mine gives way towards the beginning of the film but is also grabbed by Kimberly as they dive off the cliff and Alpha 5 once the Rangers find the command center.

Not to mention when Rita Repulsa wrecks her room and throws her into a wall. Seriously, it was a rough few days for her.

You can watch the full parody above, and you can check out more InFILMercials on their Youtube page.

While it got a certain amount of backlash, director Dean Israelite made an intentional choice to delay the Power Rangers getting their abilities.

"What I thought was potentially so clever was this idea that getting your armor was a metaphor," Israelite explained. "And you had to delay them getting their armor until they had earned it for that metaphor to make any sense."

Power Rangers currently has a 73.88 on ComicBook.com's composite rankings, and you can submit your score here.

Power Rangers is available now on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD.
