Jason David Frank Wants To Be A Part Of Possible Power Rangers Reunion

08/01/2017 04:28 pm EDT

Jason David Frank has always embraced the Power Rangers franchise, and that could include an appearance as part of a Power Rangers reunion.

In an interview with That Hashtag Show, Frank was asked if Saban is planning a reunion of some sort, referring to Toyfair when Bandai and Saban featured all of the various series helmets. Frank reflected on the original reunion but expressed interest in the newer series.

"The reunion episode was eh, all right, we saved it with the Green Ranger Bat in the Sun, but you know with the Ninja Steel, I know there are a lot of helmets, and I wish I could be part of it."

Frank has been featured in various teams over the years and reveals that Tommy is still very much around.

"I think just with the cameo in the movie, doing the movie, and Saban's always got tricks up their sleeve, so I'm not saying, I can't confirm that, but just watching the Japanese footage and seeing things that, my character's always alive in there, no matter what."

One of those series included Power Rangers Megaforce, which he reveals at one time featured more characters and footage.

"Ya know, with all reunions it's always one of those things. With Megaforce, we had a ton of Power Ranger characters that were in there and a ton of characters that they cut out. A lot of footage that they also cut out because they didn't own it."

He remembers Megaforce fondly and would be up for another reunion if Saban moves forward with it.

"I did the Megaforce and I see my character running around and someone else doing my voice, but still, it was one of those things that was exciting, and I hope to be a part of it, but we'll all just have to wait and see what happens there and keep following me on social media."

Jason David Frank will be appearing at 2018's Power Morphicon, and you can purchase your membership packages on RegOnline. The official Power Rangers convention is set to begin on Friday, August 17th and runs through Sunday, August 19th, and will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center.

You can find the description for the current season of Power Rangers Ninja Steel below, which is expected to return with new episodes later this year.

"With the franchise's 24th season, Saban Brands' Power Rangers Ninja Steel starts deep in space, where Galvanax is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe in which monsters battle to prove who is the mightiest warrior. The only thing standing in his way is a new team of heroic teenage Power Rangers who possess it. The evil Galvanax sends his warrior contestants down to Earth to steal the Ninja Power Stars, where each epic battle against the Power Rangers is broadcast throughout the universe. Together, the Rangers must master their arsenal of Ninja Power Stars, Zords and Megazords, each made of legendary Ninja Steel, in order to stop this evil threat and save Earth from destruction."
