Walter Jones Reveals The One Thing Missing From The Power Rangers Reboot

While there's plenty to love in the Power Rangers reboot, the original Black Ranger took exception to one missing element.

While the names were kept in the reboot, the characters themselves all underwent drastic revisions. That included Zack, who received a youtube daredevil backstory and extra familial elements to his character. As original Black Ranger actor Walter Jones revealed to AiPT!, that treatment was still missing one thing in particular.

"[It had] no Hip Hop Kido! It was a major motivator for so many fans to explore physical arts, dancing, gymnastics, parkour, etc… My character was the only character with that ability. It should have been included in some fashion."

Zack's fighting style was one of the highlights of his character, as he integrated dance moves into his brand of martial arts. Coining it Hip Hop Kido!, it would become a highlight for the rest of his tenure on the show. Being that the movie version of Zack is a burgeoning Youtube star, it would have been easy enough to drop a hint of his dancing origins, right?

For the most part, though Jones enjoyed the film, saying "RJ Cyler was super captivating as Billy. I enjoyed all the actors! Great effects." Jones will be reuniting with some of his former Power Rangers cohorts in a crowdfunded project called The Order, which according to him will hit sometime in 2018.

Power Rangers currently enjoys a 73.23 on ComicBook.com's composite rankings, and you can submit your rating for the film here. The official description is included below.
