Lord Zedd Easter Egg Possibly Found In Power Rangers

Power Rangers gave several nods to the classic series, including the Mighty Morphin era. It turns out one of those might have surfaced in the movie's opening sequence.

Slight spoilers incoming for Power Rangers, so if you haven't seen the movie yet you've been warned.

JLSProblemDog managed to spot a possible Lord Zedd Easter egg early in the film. As Red Ranger Zordon is crawling towards the screen in the midst of a war zone, a large ship flys overhead. He caught a screenshot of the ship, and from that angle, it looks very similar to Lord Zedd's Zord Serpentera.

Could the battle the Rangers fought in against Rita (in her Green Ranger form) be against the forces of Lord Zedd? It's certainly a possibility, and the director has said Zedd is a natural choice for the sequel.

As for Serpentera, the gargantuan Zord is the largest one ever created and has the power to literally destroy planets. The only Zord that can withstand its power is Tor The Shuttlezord, but that is only from a defensive position, not an offensive one.

It could probably destroy the Rangers easily, but luckily for them, it has a constant need for fuel, an Achilles heel that has saved the Rangers several times. You can view the screenshot below.

(Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) as Trini the Yellow Ranger, as they attempt to stop the evil and unpredictable Rita Repulsa (played by Elizabeth Banks, The Hunger Games Franchise) from destroying their city…and ultimately the world. Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") as Zordon, and Bill Hader (Finding Dory) as Alpha 5 train the Rangers to morph and master their powers as a united team.

The Saban's Power Rangers DVD will include exclusive audio commentary with director Dean Israelite and writer John Gatins, and deleted/alternate/extended scenes and outtakes. Saban's Power Rangers will be available on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD for the suggested retail price of $42.99, $39.99, and $29.95, respectively.
