Hot Toys’ BB-8 and BB-9E Figures Are Available Now

Hot Toys has released their BB-8 and BB-9E figures based on their appearance in The Last Jedi. Like most of Hot Toys figures, they look fantastic, but are they worth buying?

Currently, you can pre-order Hot Toys' BB-8 and BB-E separately or as part of a set that includes a Mouse Droid bonus. Both are accurately detailed of course, with LED eyes and plenty of accessories. But come on - unless you're a hardcore Hot Toys collector the Sphero versions make a lot more sense. They're like actual droid companions!
The BB-8 and BB-9E Hot Toys figures run $103 when purchased individually or $176 as a set. That's a bit pricey for something that will just sit on a shelf - and you won't even get it until April - June 2018. Meanwhile, the original BB-8 app-enabled droid is currently available for $115 while the new BB-9E can be had for $150. Plus, there's an R2-D2 option now for $180. You can even get the Force Band controller on sale for $50. Still, if you're interested in adding the Hot Toys' versions to your collection, the full list of details are available below along with additional images in the gallery. Wake me up when the Praetorian Guard figure is released - that figure looked badass when previewed alongside the Kylo Ren figure. It shouldn't be long now.
