Star Wars: Lupita Nyong'o Loves Keeping Franchise Secrets

These days, Hollywood struggles to keep secrets. Through no fault of its own, the massive industry continues to be plagued with spoilers and leaks as creators let slip secrets all too often. For studios like Lucasfilm, extreme measures are taken to prevent undue information from hitting the Internet, and the cast of Star Wars are on the frontline to keep spoilers at bay.

Apparently, Lupita Nyong'o is a pro at keeping the franchise's secrets. The star recently spoke about her involvement with Star Wars, and the Oscar-winning actress said she loved not having to talk about her mysterious role.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, Nyongo'o said she loved knowing the secrets of Star Wars and not having to talk to anyone about them.

"I love shutting up. I love it. I love the fact that I don't have to talk about Star Wars," she gushed.

"It's so, you know, I feel, I feel like I have a secret that everybody else wants to know about. That's powerful. I love it. I feel a little sad every time more information is revealed."

Of course, Lucasfilm also does its best to keep fans in the dark about Star Wars until the last possible moment. Fans are still waiting for Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi to drop its first trailer, and details about the Han Solo standalone are also being kept closely guarded.

As for Nyong'o, the actress has a vested interested in keeping her role rather mysterious. The star plays Maz Kanata who appeared in the last Star Wars film. The aging, wise character has a mysterious connection to The Force which makes her a likely ally to Rey as the heroine develops her own skills.
