The Last Jedi BTS Footage Hints at Trouble For Finn And Rose

While the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still a few months away, fans were treated to a behind the scenes featurette for the upcoming film at today's D23 Expo. And along the way, we may have gotten an inkling of the storyline for one of the galaxy's newest characters, Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), and her escapades with Finn (John Boyega).

Two 'blink-and-you'll miss it' pieces of footage from the video, which you can watch above, give us clues as to where the storyline will go. Around the 2:05 mark of the video, Finn is seen touching a child's shoulder in what appears to be a prison set. And at the 2:11 mark, Finn and Rose are seen in First Order gear.

From their, eagle-eyed fans can infer that the pair go on a mission to infiltrate the First Order base - and may or may not wind up in some sort of prison, either along the way or because of the mission itself.

This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise for some fans, as The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson hinted during this year's Star Wars Celebration panel that an adventure between Finn and Rose was on the way.

"For me, growing up, one of the things as a kid in Colorado watching these movies...the notion that anyone out that, that any one of us can step up and turn into a hero," Johnson explained. "That's where the character of Rose comes from...She gets pulled into a big adventure with Finn and Kelly just embodies that for me."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015.
