Supreme Leader Snoke Revealed In New Photo From 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'

Fans finally have their first real look at the mysterious Star Wars villain thanks to a new photo from Topps. Not a toy, not a poster, not a piece of art — this is the real Supreme Leader in all of his decayed, Dark side glory.

The new photo appears to be from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, showing Supreme Leader Snoke as he will appear in the new film. Check out the photo in the gallery by clicking here!

The image comes from Topps' Star Wars Card Trader series. Since this is the first time we've seen him in a movie where he isn't a gigantic blue hologram, it's the most accurate depiction of the character yet.

Played by Andy Serkis via motion-capture performance, Snoke appears to be wearing the ornate golden robes we previously heard about. The toys gave a good indication of how he'd appear, but this is the real deal.

Hailing from the Unknown Regions, not much is known about Snoke aside from that he seized control of the First Order when they needed to regroup after the fall of the Empire. Now they're back with a massive army and a giant Star Destroyer called The Supremacy to take the fight to the Resistance.

Fans have been wondering more about Snoke ever since he first appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with his identity and backstory being one of the most dominant mysteries among Star Wars fan theories.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi should have a little bit more information about the enigmatic villain, though fans shouldn't get their hopes up. Director Rian Johnson previously said that he doesn't plan to explore Snoke's backstory or explain who he is, but the movie will shed light on his current motivations.

Johnson compared the character to the Emperor in the original Star Wars trilogy, who has an imposing presence throughout the galaxy while remaining a mystery to everyone else. The prequel trilogy served to explain who he is and his rise to power, but don't expect something similar for Snoke at this point.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15th.
