Linebackers and defensive tackles aren't the only things DeAngelo Williams is skilled at outrunning. The Pittsburgh Steelers running back made a point of outrunning his own wedding party after they'd been transformed into zombies for his The Walking Dead-themed wedding.

According to the ESPN story, Williams has been a fan of horror since he was a child, as well as the WWE character The Undertaker. As he grew up, he became engrossed in Robert Kirkman's horror comic The Walking Dead and the AMC television adaptation. Williams wanted his love for The Walking Dead and all things terrifying to be a part of his wedding to Risalyn Williams.

"I'm a huge Walking Dead fan, and I know that the wedding day is typically for the woman, or for women," Williams says. "So the whole entire wedding party are zombies, and we get an opportunity to flex our Walking Dead muscle."

Williams began fantasizing about mixing his romance with The Walking Dead as soon as he and Risalyn became engaged.

"I wanted to do engagement photos with us being chased by zombies, and we didn't have time because it was during the season and we didn't have that opportunity," Williams explains.

The bride and groom themselves also got turned into zombies, presumably after being tackled by the undead mob.

"He didn't have to convince me," Risalyn says through zombie makeup. "He really had to convince the bridesmaids, but then they said that they had to do because they're bridesmaids."

"Everybody goes through weddings. They go through it, they walk down the aisle, it's over with," Williams says. "It's a time for us to fellowship, and it's a time for us to laugh and point the finger at each other...It gives us a chance to step out of our comfort zones and put on our acting skills, whether we possess them or not."

Williams is likely looking forward to the Season 7 premiere of the The Walking Dead, airing Oct. 23, 2016, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. Be sure to check out the Season 7 trailer.
