The Walking Dead Ratings: Episode 7x12 Narrowly Tops 10 Million Viewers

03/07/2017 01:22 pm EST

The Walking Dead's ratings slid once again on Sunday night. Though it was a very small drop, it brought the series to its lowest numbers since 2012, narrowly keeping itself above 10 million live viewers.

Sunday's Say Yes episode, which saw Rick and Michonne on a hunt for guns and supplies ahead of their imminent war with Negan and the Saviors earned a 4.7 rating in the key 18-49 demographic with 10.16 million total viewers.

This is not only the lowest-rated episode of Season 7, so far, but the lowest since Season 3's sixth episode, Hounded, which followed Andrea's adventures with the Governor in Woodbury. In 2012, it earned 9.21 million viewers, which was the last time The Walking Dead had a total viewer number less than 10 million.

Here is how the viewership has stacked up through Season 7:

With four episodes remaining in Season 7, will the AMC series dip below 10 million viewers before the Negan-heavy season comes to a close? Sunday's new episode brings back fan-favorite characters Carol and King Ezekiel, as Rosita and Sasha are on a mission to take out the new villain in town. Whether or not series lead Rick Grimes will make an appearance is unknown but also unexpected.
