American Horror Story Casts Billy Eichner In Major Season 7 Role

American Horror Story is known for wild stories, incredible performances, and a modern take on horror unlike anything else. Over the last couple of years, the show has also become famous for making oddball casting decisions look like genius endeavors.

Creator Ryan Murphy made another one of these legendary choices today, as Billy Eichner was officially cast in the show's seventh season.

You heard that right, comedian Billy Eichner - from Parks And Recreation and Billy On The Street - is joining the dramatic horror series.

The anthology series takes on a new story and setting in each season, and the next aim at today's political landscape. All that's known at this point is that the series will take place directly following the recent presidential election, and will begin on election night.

AHS vets Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are confirmed to be included in the new season, and Eichner is the first new actor to join them. His character's details are being kept under wraps, but he's said to be working closely with Paulson's character.

This isn't the first time a wild casting decision on AHS has taken the world by surprise. A couple of years ago, it was revealed that Lady Gaga was given the lead role in the fifth season. The singer ended up winning a Golden Globe for her performance.

Over the years, comedians such as Max Greenfield, Neil Patrick Harris, and Eric Stonestrees have all appeared on the show, as well as musicians Stevie Nicks and Adam Levine.

Eichner is set to appear in 6-7 episodes of the 11 episode seventh season. New American Horror Story episodes are set to debut on FX this September.
