Game Of Thrones Star On Whether Jamie Lannister Could Kill Cersei

There are dozens of convoluted relationships parsed out in Game of Thrones, and no fans should want to emulate them. When it comes to truly disturbing romances, Cersei and Jamie Lannister always seem to rank at the list's top spot. The incestuous pair have not been role models for how a relationship should go. Murder, betrayal, and lies have marred the couple's love for one another over the show's past six seasons. So, naturally, some fans wonder whether Jamie may eventually turn on Cersei in season seven after she killed hundreds of opposers in a fiery blast.

However, according to one Game of Thrones star, the prophetic fan-theory doesn't seem likely. In an interview with Mashable, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said his character Jaime isn't capable of becoming a Queenslayer.

"I mean I don't think he --- I'm just saying it's a valid theory. I can see it makes sense, it has a beautiful --- it's a nice circle [that] they are born together in the womb and then he kills her at the end...It makes sense," he said, nodding to the theory's poetic roots of justice. However, when it comes down to it, Coster-Waldau stressed that even logical fan-theories are only that unless a show makes them canon.

"You could say that could --- that the motivation for doing that would be the same for killing Cersei, but I haven't seen anything yet before Season 7 that would make me believe that he was capable of doing that."

In that past, the actor has been questioned about the increasingly popular fan-theory. During a chat with the Huffington Post, Coster-Waldau apparently seemed to shoot down the notion as well.

"It's a theory," Coster-Waldau said, "but it has a beautiful, romantic, tragic thing [to it].It's probably too obvious."

As Game of Thrones comes to an end, there are plenty of characters willing to snuff out Cersei if given the chance. The lead may sit on the thrones to Westeros now, but Dany is on her way to the kingdom with dragons in tow. Jon Snow is also ready to wage war against Cersei, and Tyrion Lannister would be more than happy to see his older sister bite the dust.
