Marvel's Inhumans: Henry Ian Cusick Reveals His Role

Marvel's Inhumans has wrapped filming, a version of the trailer has surfaced online, and now, we know the answer to one of the show's bigger secrets as of recent. When Inhumans premieres come September, actor Henry Ian Cusick will be portraying a character named Dr. Evan Declan.

Although it had previously been rumored that Cusick was cast in the series — thanks to an IMDB listing — we now have confirmation from the actor himself.

"I play a geneticist and his name is Dr. Evan Declan and he's human," Cusick recently told CinemaBlend. "I think that says quite a lot already, if you know the comics, you know where the Inhumans are coming from, so that's pretty much my character."

Outside of that, little to no information was revealed about the character. If you're familiar with the lore surrounding Inhumans, you'd know a geneticist could either help or hurt the Royal Family immensely.

While the character isn't taken from the comics, rather an original part to the show, it's hard to tell what side Cusick's role will be on. Originally revealed in the Marvel Cinematic in the second season of Agents of SHIELD, Inhumans are a group of humans that had previously been experimented on by the Kree, an alien race. The experiments gave them powers, which are in turn unlocked by undergoing a process known as Terregensis.

As for Cusick, he's best known for his role as Desmond Hume on Lost. After he appeared in over seventy episodes of the ABC hit, for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination, he joined the cast of The 100, where he is currently starring as Marcus Kane.

Cusick is the second Lost vet to join Inhumans after Ken Leung was previously announced as Karnak, one of the Royal Family's most wise advisors.

After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

Marvel's Inhumans stars Anson Mount (Black Bolt), Serinda Swan (Medusa), Ken Leung (Karnak), Isabelle Cornish (Crystal), Eme Ikwuakor (Gorgon), Iwan Rheon (Maximus), Sonya Balmores (Auran), Mike Moh (Triton), and Ellen Woglom.

Financed by both ABC and IMAX, the first two episodes of Marvel's Inhumans will premiere on IMAX screens starting Labor Day weekend and run for two weeks prior to its ABC debut on September 22, 2017
