AMC Renews Into The Badlands For Season 3

With the second season bringing in pretty strong numbers, and a equipping itself with a narrative that fans are falling in love with, AMC decided to give another season nod to its martial-arts epic, Into The Badlands.

The series debuted in 2015, and only aired six episodes. Many were into the series, but didn't understand why it flew under the radar for much of 2016.

While many thought it cancelled, Into The Badlands debuted in the early months of 2017, and there was a new and vibrant life about the series. After adding comedic relief - via the hilarious Nick Frost - it seemed like there was another, much greater energy, powering the show.

With that, fans have continued to get on board, and it's no surprise that AMC has ordered another season. Not only that, but the third season will be even longer. The network has given the green light for 16 episodes next year.

Creators Miles Millar and Al Gough had this comment regarding the announcement:

"We are excited and grateful to continue our journey into the Badlands with Charlie, Joel, Susie and all of our friends at AMC," they said. "We also want to give a big clipper salute to our Irish and Chinese partners! The thought of doing an expanded 16-episode season is both thrilling and exhausting!!"

The newest episode of Into The Badlands will air on Sunday, April 30 on AMC.
