Amazon Reveals Release Date For The Tick With New Teaser

In a time when Hollywood is churning out 8-10 comic book movies each year, and The CW is currently airing 47 DC TV shows, there are a lot of heroes appearing on your screens. In the midst of it all, there is one hero the really needs right now.

The Tick is returning for a brand new series this year, as Amazon has brought the classic character back for a new run on its streaming service. While the pilot has been available for quite a while now, the premiere date for the new season of The Tick has finally been revealed.

In the short announcement teaser, which you can watch above, Amazon lets fans know that they can expect new episodes of The Tick on August 25, 2017.

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant (Griffin Newman) with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero (Peter Serafinowicz).

The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy), Griffin Newman (Vinyl), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Valorie Curry (House of Lies), Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin) and Brendan Hines (Scorpion).

The Tick is executive produced by Ben Edlund (Supernatural), Barry Josephson (Bones) and Barry Sonnenfeld (A Series of Unfortunate Events), directed by Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight), and written by Edlund. The Tick is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television.
