Wynonna Earp Season 2 Trailer, Premiere Date Revealed

04/02/2017 03:49 pm EDT

Fans (not so) patiently waiting for word of Wynonna Earp's second season premiere date don't have to wait any longer.

Syfy's adaptation of the cult-classic comic book can look forward to new episodes this summer, beginning June 9 on the network.

Beau Smith's IDW comic finally returns over a year after its first season premiere, and to commemorate the release date Syfy is getting fans pumped with a new trailer hyping up the new slate of episodes.

The titular demon hunter, played by Melanie Scrofano, is once again joined by her colleagues Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) and Xavier Dolls (Shamier Anderson), as well as little sister Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley).

The trailer shows fisticuffs, dancing, shootouts, and of course giant monsters entering portals in an attempt to destroy Earth.

It also hints at the season's big bad, a group of cloaked cultists Waverly refers to as "Legion." No, it's not a crossover with the FX series, but that would actually be pretty cool.

We'll see how the sisters deal with the death of a family member, as well as the rampant infestation of demons and other paranormal activity in their town of Purgatory, when Wynonna Earp returns to televisions June 9.

Never watched the show and curious about what all of the fuss is about? You can check out all 13 episodes of first season right now on Netflix.

Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp's great granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures. With her unique abilities, and a posse of dysfunctional allies, she's the only thing that can bring the paranormal to justice.

The show stars Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Shamier Anderson, and Dominique Provost-Chalkley.

Wynonna Earp airs Friday at 10p EST on Syfy, with the 12-episode second season beginning June 9.
