The success of the Marvel movie formula is apparently such that even DC superheroes have to cram for other roles by watching how The Avengers get down.

That's according to Stephen Amell, who was asked at Planet Comic Con last weekend whether he preferred the DC or Marvel movies, and proceeded to confess that he's in mid-rewatch of the Marvel films...

...but don't get any ideas. It isn't for a Marvel role.

"I'm circling a movie -- that's not a Marvel movie; I don't want to allude to anything or establish any rumors," Amell said (as recorded by fans on YouTube), but I'm circling a movie and as homework for myself, this is one of the things I do, I'm rewatching all of Phase One of Marvel, culminating with The Avengers which I'm halfway through and excited to finish. I've seen it fifteen times."

Answering the original question, he said, "DC, of course! Marvel's really good, though. Really good."

And, yes, the obvious question that people will ask is whether it's a DC movie, but it seems more likely he could be up for a role either in any of the other half-dozen "cinematic universes" currently being established to compete with Marvel's...or just in a movie with Samuel L. Jackson or somebody.

Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
