In tonight's episode of The Walking Dead, the tenth of season six, titled, "The Next World," writer and creator of the AMC hit show got a little nod to some of his other work.

While Preacher, The Walking Dead, and Outcast are all adapted to live action, Robert Kirkman has written several other comic book properties that have yet to be adapted to TV or movies. One of those is Invincible and Carl Grimes is a fan.

Invincible follows a teenager named Mark Grayson who's father is a most powerful super hero. Mark goes on to inherit his own abilities by the age of 17 and, eventually, the title of Invincible. Perhaps Carl is looking for some inspiration on how to follow in his heroic father's footsteps.

This is hardly the first time Robert Kirkman's properties have been referenced on The Walking Dead. Earlier this season, Invincible Minimates were seen in Sam's bedroom and prior to that, Carl has read several other comic book works of Kirkman's.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
