Harrison Ford has some advice for his soon to be younger self, and it might surprise you.

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ford gave some advice to whoever ends up with the coveted role of young Han Solo for the upcoming prequel film, showing his and Chewbacca's first meeting. Ford was feeling jovial, so he threw the as of yet unnamed actor some jewels of knowledge.

"Don't do it," Ford said to Ellen in jest. "First, it seems like everything's going swimmingly, and you put in 25, 30 years, and then they just let you go. And they show you the door and say, 'We're done with you, thanks very much.'"

It was all clearly in good fun, but he did want to emphasize that it isn't a new Han Solo, but rather a young Han Solo. Granted, if it had gone Ford's way, Solo would have died in the original trilogy, and we wouldn't have been able to see him reprise the role in Star Wars:Episode VII - The Force Awakens.

The young Han Solo: A Star Wars Story film is scheduled to be released on May 25th of 2018.
