Guardians Of The Galaxy Connected To Avengers 3

While Marvel Studios has been very secretive about whether Guardians of the Galaxy will connect to other Marvel Studios films, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn let the cat out of the bag in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. Gunn said, "We're definitely connected to Avengers 3." While Gunn doesn't elaborate on how Guardians of the Galaxy is connected to Avengers 3, it's not difficult to speculate the most likely scenario. Thanos first appeared at the end of the original Avengers movie, and he plays a big role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn confirmed that Thanos will be a motion-capture character in Guardians of the Galaxy, but he didn't reveal who will be playing Thanos. Gunn described Thanos as "the head of the snake." Rumors have suggested that Thanos will be the central villain in Avengers 3, which some have speculated could be a big enough threat to bring the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy together. If the two groups do meet up in Avengers 3, it will be interesting to see how the two teams mesh together. In EW, Zoe Saldana describes how different the Guardians of the Galaxy are from the Avengers, who are equated to the rock group Cosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. "We're the Sex Pistols," said Saldana. "We're the renegades. We'll come in drunk, we'll save the day, but check your wallet--we might have taken it." Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on August 1, 2014.
