There is no greater cameo king in Hollywood than Stan Lee. The geek icon and legendary writer acts as a role model to Marvel fans around the world, and he has certainly left his mark on the company's cinematic universe. For years, Lee has made clever cameos in dozens of projects ranging from Iron Man to Agents of SHIELD. As a pop culture icon, the writer has even guested in other non-Marvel titles. And, now, it looks like Todd McFarlane is head-hunting for Lee to cameo in the live-action adaptation of Spawn.

This weekend, both McFarlane and Lee took to Emerald City Comic Con where they had a joint panel together. It was there the former talked a bit about his live-action vision for Spawn, and McFarlane told fans he wanted the King of Cameos to have a bit in the project.

"Stan Lee is in this building, and it's a rundown building, and you kick open the door, you catch him by surprise, and he's dressed in a wife-beater shirt," McFarlane said, explaining his vision for Lee's cameo. "He hasn't shaved for four days. He's got a beer in one hand, and he's got a big stogie in the other hand."

"That's just the set-up," McFarlane went on. "[Lee] always looks nice in his movies — I just want to do that crusty old curmudgeon. Basically, what his wife sees in the morning when he wakes up. The real Stan Lee. I want you to come into that movie and really act. I want you to just be nasty. It'd be awesome."

Lee then responded, saying he was down for the appearance so long as it was a minor bit. "I don't get roles that are too big in the movies, because everybody is afraid I'll get mistaken for Clark Gable," he said.

Of course, Lee could use another cameo under his belt. This weekend, fans were stunned when Logan failed to feature a cameo by the writer. It turns out that Lee's bit in the film's pre-film teaser was ultimately cut out.
