Attack on Titan may be known for its over-the-top violence, but it is just has beloved for its memes. Since the anime's first season debuted back in 2013, the show has produced an array of viral memes featuring everything from potatoes to goofy faces. Fans were eager to see what kind of memes Attack on Titan would conjure up when it finally returned for its second season this year. And, in the anime's latest episode, fans finally struck gold.

Much gold. Such laughter. Wow.

In "Soldier," fans watched as members of the Survey Corps 104th division were surrounded by Titans during the night. The group had taken refuge in the remains of Utgard Castle, but the Beast Titan decided it was a good time to send his minions to eat the soldiers alive. When the castle gets breached, Reiner went off on his own to secure a door, and his encounter with one particular Titan left fans in stitches.

When Reiner comes to a barricaded door, the man cautiously opens it with a torch in one hand. The door swings open to reveal a poorly lit corridor with one stupidly creepy Titan hiding behind it, smiling like he finally found his next meal. Reiner came face-to-face with one of humanity's biggest fears, leaving him to quickly shut the door and nope out of the situation.

And, of course, fans have since turned the scene into a massive meme.

Various Youtubers have found a version of the Attack on Titan clip which green-screens the Titan out of it, allowing them to manipulate the scene however they'd like.

You can check out some of the best memes below!
