Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has been out for less than a month, but the anime has left fans impressed so far. Since its premiere, the sequel series has picked up the slack which Naruto: Shippuden left behind, and it has introduced fans to a new kind of Konoha. Legacy characters like Naruto and Sakura certainly play a role in Boruto, but the new series is focused on telling the titular hero's story as Boruto Uzumaki grows up in a time of peace. Still, fans enjoy getting to see older characters make a cameo, and Boruto did not disappoint on that front recently.

Just go check out the Hyuga clan. You'll see why fans are freaking out then.

In the latest episode of Boruto, fans got the chance to see how members of the Hyuga clan have aged since Naruto: Shippuden wrapped. Hinata brought both Boruto and his younger sister Himawari to the clan's compound after the boy told his family he had acquired a mysterious ocular jutsu. In order to gauge Boruto's power, Hinata asked her father Hiashi and sister Hanabi to give him a once-over.

It's just that fans were't expecting Hiashi to have aged so quickly. Below, you can check out the new character designs for the Naruto ninjas, but it is Hiashi who will catch your eye first. The dignified clan leader looks much older than he did in the original Naruto series. Hiashi's Byakugan looks as if it is in pristine condition, but his greying hair and wrinkled face tell the story of his stressful upbringing. As for Hanabi, the fresh-faced heroine looks even more like Hinata than fans had anticipated, and Konohamaru may very well harbor a small crush on the Hyuga heiress.

It looks like the genin team leader takes after Naruto too well…

You can read the description for Boruto's next episode below:

"A desperate practice match! Himawari and Naruto are present too Is Byakugan's awakening a lie or a truth?!

Boruto goes in a practice match against his aunt, Hanabi. He does it so he can provide that he really did witness a shadow-like chakra and that he can activate the Byakugan. However, no matter how hard he tries, he cannot activate the Byakugan so will no one believe him?!

Do you believe your son?! Naruto thinks that Boruto's statement was an attempt to get his father's attention. But looking at how desperate his son is, he changes his mind and talks to his son, but…?!"
