‘Dragon Ball Super’ Just Gave Goku & Vegeta Some Serious Facial Hair

When it comes to Dragon Ball, fans are always paying attention to hair. After all, the Saiyan race has done some pretty cool things with their hairdos over the years, but Dragon Ball Super just took things up a notch of twelve.

Yes, that's right. If you thought Vegeta an Goku would stay clean-shaven forever, Dragon Ball Super showed you wrong. The anime's English dub released its 32nd episode this weekend, and the update saw the Saiyans grow some enviable beards.

The episode follows Vegeta and Goku as they begin training for an upcoming tournament. Universe 7 will be pitted against Universe 6 to decide the fate of the Super Dragon Balls, so the Saiyans are wanting to train. Before the pair head to an exam with Whis, they go train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but they do not come back as expected.

Whis waits for the pair to appear, asking Bulma where the Saiyans went to. "They said they were going to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and haven't come out yet," Vegeta's wife admits. However, the Saiyans choose that time to appear before Whis and Bulma. The blue-haired girl goes to scold her husband, but she does a double-take when she sees the two men.

After about a year's time in the chamber, Goku and Vegeta come out sporting intense beards. The hair covers both their jawlines in thick bushes, and the beards curl up to form a mustache combo as well. Bulma forces the two to shower as they smell from all their training, but fans can't get the image of the bearded Saiyans out of their mind.

Of course, this is not the first time Dragon Ball has given its lead Saiyans facial hair. However, it is the first time a canon title has done so. Dragon Ball GT had Vegeta rock a mustache much to his daughter's chagrin, but the Saiyan did get rid of it. Dragon Ball Super also removed the pair's facial hair after they exited the Hyberbolic Time Chamber, but the growth can be considered now since Akira Toriyama consults on the anime.
