Dragon Ball Super Episode 82 Preview Teases A Godly Battle

It looks like Dragon Ball Super is making a few changes to the way Goku comes off. Last month, the anime welcomed a brand-new story arc as the 'Universal Survival' saga got underway. The event kicked off after Goku beseeched the Omni-Kings to hold a multiverse tournament thanks to his insatiable desire to fight. However, when the all-powerful beings decide to use the Tournament of Power to wipe out low-ranking universes, a slew of warriors find themselves scared. And, in next week's preview of Dragon Ball Super, it seems one of the multiverse's most powerful fighters takes on Goku to determine if the Saiyan is evil.

That's right: evil. There's more than one person in the Dragon Ball multiverse now who thinks Goku might be a villain, and Toppo is out to see if that's true.

In the preview for episode 82, Goku is shown fighting with the team leader of Universe 11, Toppo. The powerful opponent is his home's hero of justice, and he challenges Goku to a match after the Saiyan defeats Bergamo in battle and overturns an offer from the Omni-Kings to prevent the multiverse from being destroyed. Toppo takes to the arena to test whether Goku is being intentionally malicious, fool-hearted, or something else entirely.

As for Goku? Well, he just seems excited to fight someone more powerful after his exhibition match left him wanting. However, he does seem a bit perturbed at being called a villain; It's not like Goku means to tick others off when all he wants to do is fight.

Dragon Ball Super recently kicked off the 'Universal Survival' saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:

"At Goku's request, the Omni-Kings' "Tournament of Power" martial arts tournament between universes now begins! …But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished…?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out…?!"
