If you have been waiting for Dragon Ball Super to get on its with current arc, then Toei Animation is about to reward your patience. Next weekend, the anime is set to debut its 97th episode, and it will finally kick off the Tournament of Power in earnest.

The 'Universal Survival' arc has been going on since February, but the tense storyline has been dragging its feet as of late. The story began to ramp up its action earlier this month as Super Saiyans like Kale revealed their stunning transformations, and the arc's climax is now the next stop for Dragon Ball Super. An episode preview for "Survive! The Curtain Finally Opens on the 'Tournament of Power'!!" has been released, and you can see its action-packed sequences above.

In the preview, fans can watch as Goku finally gets the opportunity to fight now that the Tournament of Power has started. The massive event boasts 80 competitors total, and Goku actually isn't the strongest fighter out there. Universes 6 and 11 have come in hot with their teams, and Goku is admittedly shaken by the latter universe's Pride Trooper Jiren.

So far, there is little information out about how Dragon Ball Super will progress once episode 97 airs; Toei Animation has kept its upcoming episode synopses quiet. A slew of episode titles have already been shared on a preliminary basis, and they tease Kale's involvement with the Tournament of Power. Before long, it seems like the female Saiyan will be forced to go Super Saiyan, and her berserker state will inevitably raise some eyebrows. Not only does the girl look like Broly when she transforms but she has limitless power like her universal counterpart.

The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super's current saga can be read below:

"According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called "Chikara no Taikai" (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe's elite warriors?"

Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
