Dragon Ball: Goku Receives Surprising New Fusion Form

Over in Japan, Universal Studios has finally unveiled its new Dragon Ball attraction, and the 4D movie is already creating lots of buzz. Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D movie opened at the end of June, giving fans the chance to fight with Goku against Broly's terrifying new god form. And, now, audiences have learned the feature gives Goku a brand-new fusion form.

In an attempt to promote the park's anime attractions, a slew of Japanese TV shows have started to feature the 4-D ride. One of the programs sent two hosts to test out the attraction, and its behind-the-scenes footage confirms Goku enters a new fusion - but it isn't with Vegeta.

Fans were led to believe the Dragon Ball attraction would fuse the Saiyans into Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta, but that is not what happens. Instead, Goku takes on a totally new fusion with the audience members who are attending the 4-D experience. The video above shows the moment when Goku asks fans to fuse with him in order to beat Broly, and the hero even initiates the Fusion Dance.

If you are wondering why Goku does not simply fuse with Vegeta, then you should blame the latter fighter's stamina. Vegeta gets knocked out by God Broly before the pair can fuse, and Goku is savvy enough to know he can't take down Broly's SSG form without a bit of help.

Universal Studios Japan has gone to great lengths to make sure its Dragon Ball 4-D experience lives up to its hype. The CG film is played on a huge screen, and audiences are put in sensor-equipped seats which move. Wind, fog, rain, lights, and even smells can also be adjusted in the room to help fans get into the anime feature.

Of course, Goku's new fusion is not one fans will see pop into Dragon Ball Super. The 4-D ride is not considered canon since creator Akira Toriyama had no input on it, but the surprising form is worth fawning over. After all, it's not everyday fans get a chance to Kamehameha with Goku and take Broly down a notch or twelve.

The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super's current saga can be read here: "According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called "Chikara no Taikai" (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe's elite warriors?

Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
